It’s a Buick-Opel Kadett coupe from 70's. One of the weirdest badge engineering marvels of GM.

It looks like an Opel Kadett C derivative, maybe some kind of Isuzu, or a Buick Opel?

The wagon version of this is the car the song “Panama” by Van Halen was about.

Ha! I was thinking an Opel of some sort. I remember those (I was 11 in 1977).

Speaking of Buick-Opels. The woodgrain option on the B Kadett wagon was pretty cool US-only(?) detail.

How mad would the people at Buick be if I got a wood grain vinyl wrap, and roadmaster badging and put it on the new wagon?

Why did this couple put the kids in the trunk? Is this a hostage situation? And who do we call about that some 50 years later?

I had a friend I went to school with who had one of those early 1970s “Opel by Buick” cars... in wagon form just like in that picture, only it was white.
It was slow (top speed of only around 110 to 120km/h), noisy and rusted badly enough that the passenger side front seat was attached to nothing more than rust and air. Sometimes they drove it with the front passenger seat removed.
One day, I saw them driving it without the passenger side fender. It had fallen off due to rust.
The father drove that car regularly from when it was new until 1987 or 1988... when he replaced it with a Pontiac Trans Am GTA with a manual transmission (which meant it had the HO 305 instead of the 350).

Was there a B Kadett Voyage too? All I can find is Commodore Voyage prototype and Ascona Voyage. Still, the more you know.

Ah you’re right. I thought of the Ascona A Voyage.
